Privacy policy
In one sentence
Vorlift collects no training data. Your workouts, your body weight and your settings stay on your phone. They are sent to no server — we have none — and nobody else receives them, except the place you choose yourself for your weekly copy, if you turn it on.
Apart from that copy, which you direct yourself, two things, and only two, leave the app, unrelated to the content of your training: a random purchase identifier, to manage your subscription, and anonymous usage milestones, which you can turn off. Both are detailed below, under "Purchases" and "Usage measurement".

What data exists, and where it is
All the data below is stored only in your device's memory, in the app's private storage.

We have access to none of this data. We do not see it, store it, or receive it.
There is no account
Vorlift asks for no sign-up, no e-mail address, no password. You have no account with us, so there is nothing to delete on our side.
Your backups go where you put them
Android's automatic backup has been deliberately disabled: your data does not go by itself to any online storage, not even your own account's.
Instead, the app offers an automatic copy, every week, which you turn on yourself by choosing a place with your phone's file picker: a folder on the device, or a service you already use, such as Google Drive or iCloud Drive. The copy is written there by your phone, and we never receive it. If that place is an online service, its provider keeps it, under the terms between you and them. You can stop the copy at any time.
You can also export your data by hand. An exported file is an ordinary file on your device — it only leaves your device if you share it, and it then goes wherever you send it.
Health data
Your body weight, your loads and your perceived effort may be regarded as health-related data, which enjoys stronger protection. That is precisely why the app is designed so that this data does not travel: it only leaves your device for the place you choose for your copies, and we are never its recipient.
Purchases
Subscriptions are bought through Google Play or the App Store. They take the payment and hold your payment details — we never have access to them.
To know whether your subscription is active, the app queries the RevenueCat service, a company based in the United States, which processes your purchases on our behalf. It receives a random identifier, unconnected to your identity, and the technical details of the purchase. It receives neither your name, nor your e-mail, nor any training data.
RevenueCat acts as a processor, under contract: transfers outside the European Union are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and the data is kept for the duration of the contract. You can write to us to have your purchase identifier deleted.
Usage measurement
To learn which features are actually used, the app sends anonymous usage milestones to the TelemetryDeck service, whose servers are in the European Union: for example "a session was saved" or "the offer was viewed". Each milestone carries its name, a few values with no content (numbers, or words from a fixed list), a randomly drawn installation identifier and a launch identifier. Never content: no exercise name, no weight, no session date.
According to TelemetryDeck, these milestones are anonymized on arrival; it uses them under its own terms, not on our behalf. It states that it keeps no IP address, and it announces no fixed retention period.
This sending is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in the app, Settings → Data & sharing: sending stops, and the installation identifier and the log of what was sent, kept on your phone, are erased.
Advertising, tracking, resale
None of the three. Vorlift shows no ads, embeds no advertising tracker, sells no data, and shares none for advertising.
Notifications
Notifications (end of rest, reminders) are produced locally by your device. They go through no online messaging service.
Crash reports
We embed no third-party crash-reporting tool.
If the app crashes, Google Play or Apple may send us an anonymous technical report — call stack, device model, OS version. This depends on your system's diagnostic settings, which you control, not on the app. These reports contain none of your training data.
This website
Everything above describes the app. This website involves two separate — and far more modest — kinds of processing.
Audience measurement, without cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to know how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It sets no cookie and creates no visitor identifier: it cannot recognise you from one visit to the next, nor follow you across other sites. It counts, and nothing more.
One cookie, and only if you click. The language switch stores your choice in a cookie named “vorlift_langue”, which contains only “fr” or “en” and lasts one year. It is set only when you click that switch, never when you arrive on the site. That is why you see no banner here: this cookie is strictly necessary for the service you just asked for, and there is no other.
Finally, the site's host technically receives every visitor's IP address in order to serve the pages, as any host does; its identity is given in the legal notice. We keep no connection logs of our own.
Your rights
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection over your personal data.
Here, these rights are exercised directly on your device, without going through us:
- Access your data and take it with you: the app's export feature produces a readable file.
- Rectify: anything you entered can be edited in the app.
- Erase: deleting a session, or uninstalling the app, erases the data concerned. Uninstalling is final — hence the importance of exporting.
- Object to usage measurement: turn it off in Settings → Data & sharing. To have your purchase identifier deleted at RevenueCat, write to us.
For any question, write to hello@vorlift.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
Age
Vorlift is intended for adults and is not designed for children. Strength training for minors calls for supervision that the app does not replace.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page is updated. And what the app sends stays readable in the app itself, under Settings → Data & sharing: the list of what was sent, and the switch to stop it.
